Undergraduate Student in Mathematics Updated July 2026

Changqing Luo

I am an undergraduate student in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at ShanghaiTech University, interested in statistics, applied mathematics, optimization, and data science.

I use this site to organize what I am learning, describe the projects I have worked on, and record how my interests are developing as I prepare for more formal research training.

Research Training

Learning how mathematics, statistics, and computation fit together.

I am still building the foundations I will need for future research. Coursework in mathematics and statistics gives me the theory; projects such as NSOFC-RegRank have helped me see how data quality, computational choices, and incomplete evidence affect an actual analysis.

LEARNING

Strengthening my foundations in probability, mathematical statistics, analysis, numerical computation, and optimization

RECENT PROJECT

Completed NSOFC-RegRank, a computational project on GWAS-based regulatory variant prioritization

NEXT STEP

Using coursework, paper reading, and smaller computational experiments to explore statistics and applied mathematics

Selected Work

Coursework, competitions, and research training—documented with my role and what I learned.
